Child Protection · Migration · Humanitarian Action
Senior technical consulting for organisations working at the intersection of child protection, migration, and humanitarian action — across West and Central Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and globally.
What we do
Strategic and operational guidance on child protection in migration and displacement contexts. CP case management systems, quality standards, inter-agency coordination, and nexus programming across humanitarian and development modalities — in English and French.
Design of the frameworks, standards, and systems that translate child protection intent into operationally coherent responses — Quality Assessment Frameworks, indicator menus, capacity building toolkits, and monitoring systems built for field reality.
Navigating the ethical dimensions of humanitarian action in displacement contexts — safeguarding, do-no-harm programming, accountability to affected populations, and the moral complexity of working with children in crisis and fragile settings.
Professional mentoring for child protection and migration practitioners navigating technical complexity, leadership transitions, or the particular challenges of building a career at the intersection of humanitarian and development work.
Amanda Azzali
Over fifteen years of field and technical leadership across West and Central Africa and the Middle East have produced a specific and rare combination: deep expertise in child protection systems, a migration sub-specialisation, and the institutional knowledge to work across humanitarian and development modalities — in both English and French.
I build the frameworks, regional architectures, and capacity building systems that translate protection intent into consistent, high-quality responses for children in displacement and migration settings. Most recently, I developed Save the Children's global CP Case Management guidance for migration contexts — a Quality Assessment Framework, a Menu of Indicators and Quality Benchmarks, and a Capacity Building Toolkit, in consultation with the Migration and Displacement Technical Working Group.
I served as Regional Child Protection Technical Advisor for Save the Children's West and Central Africa portfolio, leading technical strategy at the humanitarian-development nexus across seven country contexts. Earlier, I established Terre des Hommes Italia's Jordan mission and led child protection programming for children affected by the Iraq conflict.
